The situation caused by the pandemic has changed our lives in many ways and, when we least expected it, the time has come to accept a new reality: teleworking has entered our lives, and in many cases, it is here to stay.
According to the National Institute of Statistics, in Spain only 5% of workers carried out their work from home in 2019. However, COVID-19 has increased that figure to 35% of the total. There were many of us who dreamed of the day when we could sleep a little longer or stay all day in our pajamas. But, let's face it, it hasn't turned out to be as easy as we thought, and avoiding distractions is proving to be quite a challenge. For this reason, experts recommend delimiting an exclusive space for teleworking at home, creating a work environment separate from life at home that will allow us to optimize our productivity and concentration to the maximum. Here are some tips so you can adapt your home to create the perfect home office:
Choose a space
Find a comfortable, quiet place, as quiet as possible and where there are no distractions. Yes, that means far from the television or the temptations that may be in the fridge. It can be anything from an entire area converted into an office to a corner of the room. Wherever it is, nowadays there is furniture that adapts to even the smallest corners. However, try to avoid passageways and try to find a place with privacy.
Make sure your space is well lit
Try to have your work area near a window and have natural lighting. This will have a positive effect on your mood and performance. If this is not possible, you can always use good artificial lighting, preferably diffused and simulating sunlight, to avoid straining your eyes.
Opt for ergonomic furniture
Working from home has not only affected our work performance, but it can also take its toll on our health if we do not maintain a correct posture. Try to get a chair that is well suited to your physiological and spatial needs and, above all, that is comfortable. And always try to sit in such a way that your torso and legs form a 90-degree angle. Likewise, try to make sure that your desk also adapts to you and your needs, that is, that it is at the right height and that you have the necessary space to place your computer in front of you at a reasonable distance.
Decorate your workplace
We know it may seem silly, but decorating the place where you do your work has a positive influence on our levels of inspiration and creativity, while also helping to instill a good mood. Take advantage of the benefits of plants, which provide energy and vitality while purifying the environment by absorbing the radiation emitted by our electronic devices, or decorate your wall with pictures to make that space something personal that invites you to stay motivated.
Keep the order
And order will keep you safe. Working in a mess of paperwork and clutter only makes things more difficult. Try to keep everything organized and, if necessary, get filing cabinets, lockers or drawers that provide storage space and make the most of vertical space.
But what do we do if we don't have that space? We know that, even following these tips, it's still not easy for many, since not all of us have a place with these characteristics in our house. We bring you two solutions: our CAMBIA and SUMA mortgages. With CAMBIA, you can enjoy a new house that suits your needs while you sell the other one with peace of mind. It's that simple. Or, if you prefer something more personal, you can take advantage of our SUMA mortgage, with which we finance the purchase and renovation of your home so that you can make it to your liking.
