Hello!
My name is Óscar Habas, and I've been in the financial sector for over 25 years, always with the same passion for what I do. I manage UCI's mortgage business in Catalonia, the Canary Islands, Valencia, Aragon, and part of Madrid, but beyond the numbers and the markets, my job is to build strong relationships, both with my team and with our partners: financial intermediaries, digital partners, and the traditional channel. Because this business isn't just about mortgages; it's about people who trust us to make one of the most important decisions of their lives.
I've held various roles at UCI, from agency director to head of hipotecas.com in Barcelona, and throughout this time I've witnessed the sector's complete transformation, especially since the introduction of the LCCI (Law on Real Estate Credit Contracts). The real estate revolution and the rise of mortgage brokerage have made our role more relevant than ever. We not only facilitate access to housing, but we also guarantee stability. And that's only possible when we listen, understand, and find the best solution for each individual case.
Because no two clients are alike. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions, but rather in tailoring financing to each individual, with realism and responsibility. There are times when we can say "yes" and help fulfill a dream, and others when we have to say "no," because what we can offer the client isn't the best option for their future. And we're there to support them even then, because a mortgage is a long-term commitment and must be approached with a clear head.
I've always believed in the value of teamwork, perhaps because I've spent my entire life as part of a team. I've managed many sales and sports teams, and in both, one thing never changes: shared effort, communication, and trust make all the difference. In a team, everyone has their role, but we all pull together toward the same goal. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn, but the important thing is to get back up together. As captain, my role was always to motivate and boost morale during difficult times, and today, leading sales teams, I still feel that same responsibility.
Because, ultimately, managing a team isn't just about directing; it's about supporting, inspiring, and empowering each person to give their best. And the same applies to our partners. A genuine relationship isn't based solely on results, but on trust, on knowing we're there to contribute and build together. And that's undoubtedly the part I enjoy most about my work.
